Fall Play 2012 The Best Christmas Pageant Ever  December 15 & 16

DHS Drama Department will present the play The Best Christmas Pageant Ever on December 15 & 16 in the DHS auditorium.  Over 60 DHS students are involved in this production either on stage, in the crew or providing technical support.

The Best Christmas Pageant Ever has been a favorite of young readers the world over since 1972.  Funny, memorable, and outrageous, it is the story of a family of incorrigible children who discover the Christmas story for the first time and help everyone else rediscover its true meaning.

The story involves the Herdmans, who are the worst kids in the history of the world. They lie, steal, smoke cigars, swear, and hit little kids. So no one is prepared when this outlaw family invades church one Sunday and decides to take over the annual Christmas pageant.   None of the Herdmans has ever heard the Christmas story before. Their interpretation of the tale — the Wise Men are a bunch of dirty spies and Herod needs a good beating — has a lot of people up in arms. But it will make this year’s pageant the most unusual anyone has seen and, just possibly, the best one ever.

Performances are on Saturday December 15th at 7:30 and Sunday November 16th at 2:00.  Tickets are $5 each can be purchased in the school office or at the door the day of the show.

Fall Play 2011 Children’s Theater November 5th & November 6th

This fall, the DeKalb Drama Department will be presenting 2 one act children’s plays.  Act I will be The Truly Remarkable Puss-In-Boots and after a brief intermission, Act II will be The Surprising Story of the Three Little Pigs.

The Truly Remarkable Puss-In-Boots is a fairly straight forward account; where The Surprising Story of the Three Little Pigs tells of the Three Pigs, the Three Billy Goats Gruff and the Three Bears who all are tired of their villains and don’t want to tell the story one more time so they demand that the narrator allow them to change stories.
